Free Credit Report SCAM! The FTC Fights Back.

The companies have names like "freecreditreport.com" or "freetriplereport.com." Free? Hardly ever!

The only source for consumers to get their credit reports truly free is from www.annualcreditreport.com. The "imposter sites" including the most heavily advertised freecreditreport.com from Experian, will provide free credit reports only if you agree to their credit monitoring services that will be billed to you at about $15 a month. That's nearly $180 a year for something the vast majority of consumers simply do not need.

The Federal Trade Commission is now fighting back. To see the FTC's funny commercials and learn more, go to www.ftc.gov
